While standard clotting assays just detect the starting time of clotting, ROTEM provides information on the whole kinetics of haemostasis: clotting time, clot formation, clot stability and lysis.
The different parameters in thromboelastometry are dependent on:
ROTEM® provides the most complete and rapid information on hemostasis. Unlike other clotting assays, ROTEM® analyzes whole blood and provides information about all stages of the coagulation process.
ROTEM® tests capture specific parameters (described more fully below) that provide information about the elements affecting hemostasis.
The results of the ROTEM® analysis should not be the sole basis for a patient diagnosis, but should be evaluated together with the patient’s medical history, the clinical picture and, if necessary, further coagulation tests.
